Art Elements

Elephant Perspective      Two Giraffes Perspective  The piece of artwork I chose to blog about is one that I have always been fascinated with. This sculpture was made by the French artist Matthieu Robert-Ortis in 2016 and is a perspective based-thin metal sculpture. As you can see the white background highlights the black frame that makes either two Giraffes or an Elephant depending on where you are standing. This such a neat concept for a sculpture as it could look like nothing from one angle and something completely different from another. Lines When it comes to the lines of this sculpture, they are quite basic when looking at how each of the animals is composed, just your standard outline. However when looking at it in person, or a walk around video, the lines are a mess and stick out making it look like 3 dimensional scribbling until you see it from one of the intended angles.   The Garden of Earthly Delights by Bosch     Hello! My name is Kazden Haugen, I am currently a first year student at UAF living in Oregon at the moment. I was born here but I traveled a lot, in high school I stayed here but my senior year I moved to a small town in Alaska called Hyder. I moved with my parents as they were the two teachers at the school, my mom taught the elementary class and my dad taught the high school class. I took mostly online UAF courses and in the time I spent there I got to help out a lot with the students and that set me on the UAF path to one day become an elementary school teacher! Few things about me, I love music, books, animals and I'm currently  learning guitar. I am looking forward to see what this class has in store.     When it comes to my relationship with art I am someone who really enjoys learning about new types of art and art history. I can appreciate the work that goes into all types of art as I am not too much of an artist myself. I enjoy
