Elephant Perspective Two Giraffes Perspective The piece of artwork I chose to blog about is one that I have always been fascinated with. This sculpture was made by the French artist Matthieu Robert-Ortis in 2016 and is a perspective based-thin metal sculpture. As you can see the white background highlights the black frame that makes either two Giraffes or an Elephant depending on where you are standing. This such a neat concept for a sculpture as it could look like nothing from one angle and something completely different from another. Lines When it comes to the lines of this sculpture, they are quite basic when looking at how each of the animals is composed, just your standard outline. However when looking at it in person, or a walk around video, the lines are a mess and stick out making it look like 3 dimensional scribbling until you see it from one of the intended angles.
